Calculations of pipe installation at an angle of 45 degrees. How to cut a pipe at an angle - layout options for a round and profile pipe

When installing the pipeline, it is often necessary to cut the pipe at an angle. Moreover, the angle should have exactly the degree that is necessary for the design. If the angle is not manufactured correctly, it is impossible to produce exactly the dimensions of the pipeline that were supposed to be performed. For example, the pipe during installation will rotate 45 degrees, therefore, you need to know how to cut the pipe at 45 degrees. For this we need marking tools, a grinder or a hacksaw for metal.

One of the easiest methods is to mark the corner with a piece of paper. We fold the square sheet strictly diagonally. We take the pipe and wrap it with a folded sheet so that the edges of the diagonals are opposite each other. Thus, on the smaller side of the sheet we have an angle of 45 degrees. We take any marking tool and mark the place of the future section of the pipe along the sheet line. To prevent the markings from being accidentally erased, you can use a narrow tape. This marking method is convenient for a long pipe of large diameter, and the cut location of which is somewhere in the middle.

Using a water tank

What if we are dealing with a pipe of small diameter, and it is necessary to cut the pipe at an angle somewhere near the edge? A deep container filled with water will come to the rescue. Before starting work, it is necessary to calculate the angle of inclination and make a mark on the tank. Then we just need to carefully lower the edge of the pipe into the water and tilt it to the mark on the tank. We take out the pipe, mark the line of contact with water, and boldly cut according to the marking. This method is good for marking a large number of pipes. A ready-made template from a container with water will speed up the process of our work.

Computer program to help

I would also like to consider the markup method using a computer program. This is a rather complicated method for those who are not used to working with a computer. It requires knowledge of the PC, the availability of programs for scans and drawings. We start by completing a drawing with the size of the circle and the slope. We make the so-called virtual template.

Then using the printer print the image on a sheet of paper. The larger the diameter of the pipe, the more there will be sheets with a marking. Scissors cut out all parts of the drawing and with adhesive tape, glue them. The finished template is applied to the pipe, and on the edge of the paper we do the marking. This markup method is considered one of the most accurate. If the computer does not have such programs, you can use the Internet. On the network you can download the pattern for marking. It also needs to be printed on a printer and cut. Wrap the finished piece around the pipe and mark it.

If the pipe is profile

But, for example, we have a profile pipe, not a round one. Manual marking of the profile pipe can lead to large errors. The best way out of this situation is to make a template from the same profile with a larger diameter. Take a small segment of a profile pipe and use an angle meter to mark an angle of 45 degrees. We cut off according to the marking with a grinder and grind the edges so that during work we do not get injured on the burrs. All that remains for us is to insert a profile of a smaller diameter into the template and, having made the markup, cut it off.

In this article, we looked at how to cut a pipe at 45 degrees. Using one of the above methods, markup and cut. For a more even cut, it is better to use a grinder. When cutting by welding, experience will be required, otherwise, unevenness will result in slices. In extreme cases, you can use a hacksaw for metal. Currently, there are many different devices for cutting pipes at an angle, but buying them requires extra costs. It’s simpler and cheaper to make a template once, and use it as needed.

Video

Thanks to this video, you will learn how to cut a pipe at an angle of 45 or 90 degrees using a computer program:

Cutting a profile pipe using a pipe cutting tool for forty-five degrees:

Installation of systems often requires painstaking preparation. In particular, it is necessary to cut pipes of the required size. Sometimes it becomes necessary to cut them at an angle. The angle should be accurate, because otherwise it would be impossible to establish the system correctly. The welding line will be broken, which will reduce the quality of the structure. In this article, we will consider how to cut a pipe at 45 degrees.

Tools and materials

In order to cut the structure at 45 degrees, you will need to buy the following tools and materials:

  • Paper;
  • Container with water;
  • Construction adhesive tape;
  • Plain tape;
  • Mark;
  • Scissors;
  • PC and program that allows you to create a scan structures;
  • Turning unit;
  • Gas flame tool;
  • Tool for cutting structures;
  • Welding tool;
  • Hacksaw on metal surfaces;
  • Bulgarian.

Completing of the work

What to do if you want to cut the pipe at 45 degrees? First of all, you need a square-shaped sheet. It folds diagonally. Then the structure is placed in it. The edges of the diagonals must be in contact with this. The smaller side of the sheet makes it clear where the 45 degree line is located. It needs to be drawn with chalk or core.

What to do if the diameter of the pipe is small? To do this, take a deep container with water. A pipe is placed in it under the required slope (it is calculated before starting work). The line at the border of the dry part of the structure allows you to understand in which place you want to cut the structure at 45 degrees. The line, as in the first case, should be drawn with chalk or core.

Masking tape can also be used for these purposes. Better if it is narrow. The method is good in cases where the structure is long and you need to separate it in the middle. Masking tape is applied under the necessary slope. If it was not glued correctly, it can easily be glued. For the quality of work, it is recommended to stick tape on the pipe in 2-3 layers.

You can try a more complex method that guarantees the most accurate results. It will require a PC and an installed program to perform scans or drawings. To start, a drawing is performed. The template indicates the dimensions of the circumference of the structure and the slope. Scanning can be done without a special program, using OST 38-43-81. Then the template is printed on the printer. The number of sheets used for this is determined on the basis of need. The drawing is cut out and glued with tape. Then it is brought to the structure, and places for the cut are drawn along the lines.

After the line is drawn according to any of the above methods, you can cut the pipe at 45 degrees. To do this, it is recommended to use a turning tool. It allows for a smooth and precise cut. If a flame tool or welding is used, experience is essential for quality work. Otherwise, the cut will be uneven. If the work is carried out with a large number of designs, it is better to use a grinder or tools for cutting pipes. If you don’t have any professional tools at hand, you can use a hacksaw on metal surfaces.

Before you cut the pipe at 45 degrees, we recommend that you look at useful information materials: photos and videos.

Sometimes you need to trim a particular part or product at a certain angle. As a rule, you need to trim baguettes, fillets, platbands, plinths and other similar interior elements at an angle of 45 degrees. Everyone can cope with this task. The main thing is not to rush, not to be nervous and everything will work out.

Buy finished corner elements

Of course, the easiest way is not to suffer with trimming one or another part, but to buy ready-made, not requiring processing and trimming. Such parts and elements are sold everywhere in large supermarkets or smaller stores.

For example, with regard to baguette or fillet, special corner elements are sold to them that fit perfectly into the corner and do not need to be trimmed. It is enough to simply stick them in their place and press them down well.

The method of joining platbands without undercutting

Platbands today often do not cut at an angle to then dock with each other, but make a joint at right angles. This method of joining platbands does not require any special trimming, which is very convenient. In addition, this method looks more modern and attractive.

Miter cuts using a miter box

If, nevertheless, it is necessary to cut one or another part at an angle, then it is worth stocking up with a miter box - the simplest device that looks like a small box. The miter box has slots that are designed for a saw or a long sharp knife. Of course, these slots are made so that they form an even and accurate angle of 45 degrees.

However, the miter box can have many slots at once, from different angles. This is convenient, because with the help of a single device, you can cut any parts at different angles.

There are adjustable miter boxes on sale. The slots of such a miter box can be adjusted, which allows the master to set exactly the angle that is currently required. In particular, it is quite simple to translate the slots of such a miter box to a position of 45 degrees.

Now the workpiece can be cut elementarily. A baguette, platband or baseboard is placed in the miter box, after which the saw is inserted into the slots and the excess is cut off elementarily. The angle is ultimately perfect, exactly 45 degrees.

What to do if there is no bite? Very simple. You need to make a template according to which it will not be difficult to transfer the necessary markup to the workpieces. As a template, you can choose a thick cardboard or something else that will be appropriate in this case.

Cutting parts at an angle with a protractor

You can trim the part at an angle using a protractor. This is a measuring tool that is easy to use, and which is designed specifically to measure angles or make the necessary marking on certain parts. The protractor is applied to the part, mark the corner and make markings with a pencil. With this markup, cutting the workpiece at the right angle is not difficult.

Using patterns

If there is no protractor, miter box or ready-made corner elements, you will have to look for a suitable template. Of course, the template should have the right angle. It is applied to the workpiece and the workpiece is marked with a pencil. This is one of the easiest ways to achieve the desired result.

In-place pruning

Not always the walls, floor and ceiling will be in practice perfectly even. Most often they have irregularities. For this reason, there is no need to cut the workpieces at clear and precise angles, because they still will not fit perfectly.

Instead, it is sometimes convenient to trim the same ceiling plinth in place. That is, first one plinth plank is glued, cut it in the corner, and the second plank is cut under it.

Of course, it’s hardly possible to cut off the workpiece perfectly. However, if a small gap appears in the corner, it can always be covered with putty or gypsum plaster. Nothing special.

Pipes are the most common type of metal and plastic. They are used to transport a wide variety of gases and liquids. In factories, rolled products are produced in a certain length. To mount them in place in a pipeline, heating, water supply or sewage system, they must be cut to the desired length. Pipes are cut evenly and with a bevel. For this, many cutting methods and various equipment are used.

Used tools

At first glance, a simple operation - pipe cutting in practice reveals a lot of nuances and pitfalls. It’s not so easy to cut the tubes straight:

  • Thin-walled.
  • Large diameter.
  • With a bevel.

It is very important to choose a cutting method and special equipment suitable for each specific case. It is divided into individual, domestic and industrial.

For individual use

They are used in households, private construction and small business. They deal with small and medium diameters (up to 250 mm) used in systems

  • Water supply.
  • Heating.
  • Sewer.
  • Ventilation.

Such tools include:

  • Cutters. They are used to evenly cut the polymer pipe up to 75 mm. To conduct a smooth and accurate cut have a gear mechanism. The workpiece is first clamped with a shelf clamp, which securely fixes it and prevents it from leaving the cutting line.
  • Disc cutter. Suitable for ventilation and sewer polymer pipes with a diameter of up to 200 mm. The blade is not a secateurs type, but in the form of a disk rolling on the surface of the workpiece. The cut is carried out in several revolutions. Not suitable for rolled metal, as it can crush a thin metal liner.
  • Guillotine. A flat oblique knife moves in the guides and allows you to evenly cut the required length in one pass. It is available both with an electric drive that provides greater productivity, and with a manual one.
  • Hacksaw for metal. The classic bench tool allows you to evenly cut the workpiece clamped in a vice. When using it is important to lead the saw smoothly, with constant effort and without distortions. The burrs formed after working with the hacksaw should be cleaned with a file.
  • Angle grinder, angle grinder. In everyday life it is called "grinder". This versatile tool can handle any materials and diameters. In order to cut the pipe with a grinder, special abrasive cutting discs are used.
  • Electric jigsaw. A very popular tool among home masters can cut pipes, but because of the movement of the flexible blade to the side, you only have to dream about accuracy
  • Reciprocating saw. The instrument has not yet received wide distribution among Russian masters. The adjustable emphasis of a saw and its powerful blade allow to cut hire even on weight and close to a wall.

To ensure that the cut from the general-purpose tool is smooth, use special tools to fix the workpiece. It can be templates, a vice or a miter box. In addition, it is very important to correctly mark the future cut and during operation to ensure that the cutting line does not go to the side.

For industrial use

Such equipment is used in factories where the volume of work is large or large pipes have to be cut. In order to cut evenly, use:

  • Lathe. It is suitable for high-precision cutting of workpieces, chamfering, making ledges, diameter transitions and other shaped machining. Allows a lathe to cut threads, both internal and external. The length of the part is limited by the reach of the headstock of the machine. Diameter - offset cams of the cartridge.
  • Tape machines. They are used to cut a large diameter pipe without removing it from a trench or collector point. They work on deformed products.
  • Disc cutting machines. Highly automated installation with a pendulum saw and a workpiece feed mechanism. Often included in the production line, it is used for high-performance cutting of rolled products into equal pieces.
  • Manual disk installations. Mobile equipment is used to cut rental exactly right at the installation site. Equipped with a multifunctional clamp, which allows you to securely fix products of different diameters and cut them evenly without damaging the edges. The rotary worktable allows you to cut exactly at an arbitrary angle. The most advanced models are equipped with an orbital welding system. This allows not only cutting, but also connecting the segments.

Cutting technology

As a rule, the volume and complexity of work to be done by a home foreman does not require the use of high-performance and expensive equipment at the production level. In the manufacture of the frame of the greenhouse, you can completely cut the pipes with a grinder or a traditional manual hacksaw.

Each type of cut has its own nuances, and some require special tricks.

Right angle

The accuracy of the cut is largely determined by the qualitatively made marking. Experienced craftsmen advise marking the cut lines not with a pencil, but with masking tape, observing the following sequence of actions:

  • Set aside the required size and put a small mark with a marker or pencil.
  • Gently, applying to the mark, glue the part with masking tape in a circle. The edges of the paper should converge without a shift. This is a sign that the paper is glued correctly. If the edges do not fit, the adhesive tape needs to be re-glued.
  • Securely fix the workpiece to prevent its movement and skew during operation. To fix, use a vice, clamps.
  • The cut (smaller) piece of the workpiece should be left on its weight so that it does not clamp the blade or disc.
  • The incision begins at the top.
  • Disc grinder (or hacksaw blade) lead exactly along the edge of the masking tape, not deviating to the side.

This will allow you to evenly cut the required length.

If the diameter is large, then the marking is performed in the same way, but cut in parts, sectors of 30-60 °. After cutting through another sector of attachment, loosen and rotate the pipe. Then they fix it again and continue to cut it off from the place where the previous sector ended. To get it smoothly, special attention should be paid to the beginning of the cut, avoiding steps and nicks.

45 ° oblique incision

Cutting off the end of the pipe exactly under 45 ° is possible without the use of complex devices. It is enough to apply locksmith wit. You will need to do the following:

  • Cut a squared paper sheet.
  • Fold diagonally. Learn a right-angled isosceles triangle.
  • Wrap the blank with a sheet so that the leg of the triangle is perpendicular to the axis, and the hypotenuse forms an upward spiral.
  • Fix the sheet with tape.
  • Fix the workpiece and cut along the oblique edge of the leaf. It will turn out at 45 °.

There is another folk method. The end of the workpiece is immersed in a container with liquid at the required angle. You need to cut off at the border of the wetted and dry areas.

If you want to cut not perpendicularly, then it is better to use an old carpentry tool - a miter box.

This is a U-shaped pattern, in the side walls of which cuts have already been made at given angles. The pipe rests against the wall of the miter far from the master and is pressed there with a hand or a manual clamp. The hand saw blade is brought into the corresponding grooves and sawed. If necessary, cut from a different angle, you can make additional cuts in the walls of the miter box.

Pipe cutting techniques at an angle

Techniques not perpendicular cutting depend on the processed material. Some techniques are suitable for plastic or thin copper - materials plastic and light in processing. Thick steel will require a more serious approach.

Small diameter plastic pipes can be cut using specialized scissors.

Steel pipes can be cut off with a grinder, but it is better to use a more accurate tool - a band saw with a rotary table equipped with clamps. A desktop disc cutting machine is also suitable.

When using a general-purpose tool, you will definitely have to use one or another snap-in.

Programs for calculating cutting angles

A 45 ° cut pattern can be obtained by folding a square leaf in half. For the formation of patterns on other bevels, more or less complex trigonometric calculations will be required. For those who have safely left the sines and cosines in high school and are not going to remember the formulas, the network has many programs for calculating patterns for any desired angle. The program performs the calculation for the user-defined diameter and angle of the cut and creates an image of the pattern, which should be printed on your printer.

Important: in the print settings you should select the option "full size" and disable the image scaling.

To smoothly cut at 45 °, you can independently make a paper piece. To do this:

  • Measure or calculate the outer circumference.
  • From a corner of a sheet of paper for an A4 printer, draw a line at an angle of 45 °. If there is no protractor, such a line can be obtained by folding together the edges of the sheet adjacent to the corner.
  • On it, lay the circumference.
  • This will be a hypotenuse. Finish an isosceles right triangle to it. One side will be the edge of the paper, the second should be lowered perpendicular to the second edge from the deferred point.
  • Cut the resulting triangle - this will be the pattern for cutting pipes at an angle of 45 °.

It should be wrapped around the workpiece, aligning the ends of the hypotenuse. Along the side of the legs, a cut will pass. The line should be marked with a marker or paper tape. Further along the marked line, it will be possible to evenly cut a piece with the desired bevel.

The method is suitable for pipes with a diameter of up to 63 millimeters.

Since time immemorial, carpenters have been using a simple but very useful tool to evenly cut off the ends of bars, rectangular, round and shaped, at an angle. The carpenter's miter box is well suited to saw off a plastic or non-thick metal pipe.

You can use ready-made, or you can make a miter box with your own hands. Its advantage will be that it can be made exactly to the size of the pipe. For manufacturing you will need:

  • Cut a board with a length of 40-50 cm and a width equal to the pipe diameter.
  • Cut two boards of the same length, but wider by the thickness of the first board.
  • Assemble the boards on the screws, attaching the side ones to the base so that a U-shaped groove is obtained.
  • In the center, mark and make vertical cuts in the side boards to the base so that the straight line drawn through them forms angles of 90, 60, 45 and 30 ° with the longitudinal axis of the structure.
  • If necessary, make cuts at other angles.

The side walls are best made from wood of more durable species - this will extend the service life of the equipment.

This not only determines and helps to maintain the correct cut line and to cut evenly. It also serves as a means of fixing the pipe. It is enough to hold the pipe with your hand along with the miter box. For each diameter will have to make a separate snap.

Slots in the side walls are also subject to wear during operation. It is necessary to ensure that the hacksaw blade goes in them with minimal backlash. In case of wear, you can cut new slots in parallel with the old, deviating from them at least 3 centimeters, or replace the side walls.

This miter box has the following advantages:

  • simplicity of device and manufacture
  • cheapness
  • an opportunity to make equipment for any diameter and required angle

  • it is inconvenient to work with large diameters and wall thickness
  • snap each snap to its diameter
  • compatible with hacksaw only

Simple cutting equipment

The universal detachable machine with a pendulum circular saw is perfect for smoothly cutting thick-walled large diameter pipes, both round and rectangular, at an angle. Such devices work on the procurement areas of small industries and on construction sites where it is required to smoothly cut a large number of fittings into size.

The circular saw along with the electric motor is fixed on the pendulum lever and can be brought into the working area with great accuracy and then cut in the same plane.

Advanced devices are equipped with an articulated lever that allows you to change the direction of cut. In the models of the lower and middle price segment, the orientation of the cutting line is carried out by a rotary table equipped with clamps for reliable fixation of the workpiece. In addition, the table can be tilted to the side up to 45 °. The rotary table and the lifting mechanism are equipped with protractors that allow you to set the angle to the nearest degree.

For reliable fixation of the pipe at a given angle, a clamp and two steel corners with a side close to the diameter of the pipe are used. A short corner is fixed on a rotary desktop, using its regular screw clamps. The fastening and cutting process in steps:

  • Set the turntable to the desired cutting angle and secure it.
  • Lay the pipe between the corners and tighten them with a hand clamp so that the marked cut line remains free.
  • Start the engine.
  • After a set of revolutions, smoothly bring the disk to the metal surface and evenly cut off the workpiece. At the beginning and end of the cut, when the cross section of the metal being cut is maximum, one should not apply great effort to the handle of the pendulum.

The main advantages of this method:

  • high performance, including with thick walls
  • flat and smooth cut, requiring minimal cleaning and file refinement
  • lack of need to build patterns.

Inherent reception and disadvantages:

  • applicability to small and medium diameters
  • high cost of the machine
  • low mobility
  • high power consumption and noise

The nuances of working with a rectangular section

To cut a rectangular profile evenly, experts recommend pre-harvesting templates. The easiest way is to make templates from a steel corner of a sufficient size, marked for the desired bevel. This greatly saves the markup time with a large volume of sections of the same type.

A corner is placed on the profile pipe on the side and a cut line is marked with a marker or scriber along the beveled side. It is recommended to repeat it with paper tape.

Precision Cutting Machines

Band saws are characterized by high stability of the plane of movement of the blade and precision cutting. They are also widely used in procurement areas of small and medium series production. They are characterized by versatility, reliability and high performance.

For private use, MASS from Italy offers a compact band saw unit. It is equipped with a manual clamping device and can evenly cut pipes with a diameter of up to 65 mm, as well as rolled any profile of the same thickness.

The rotary device allows you to set an arbitrary cutting direction from 0 to 45 °. The frequency of movement of the cutting blade is up to 45 cycles per minute. The economical 370-watt motor allows the use of an ordinary 220V single-phase home electrical network.

The use of thermal methods

In addition to mechanical, thermal methods of cutting pipes are widely used. Here the tool is a gas cutter (propane or acetylene) or an electric arc welding machine. Even the most thick-walled large-diameter pipes are subject to the gas cutter. High enough and performance. In addition, only these methods provide exceptional mobility - you can cut the pipe in a trench, basement - in places where a high-performance stationary machine simply can not be pulled and connected.

It should be noted that thermal methods do not allow to achieve high accuracy, and even cut off exactly also does not always work. However, in a number of applications, such as operational repair of heating mains or trunk pipelines, it is not required. After cutting thermally, the resulting edges have to be additionally processed with mechanical tools, align the cut line and display the bevels to design values.

The thermal cutting method is also used when working with polymer pipe products. In thermal guillotines, the cut is carried out by an oblique thin-cutter heated to a high temperature, sliding in the guides.

The devices can also be cut at an angle and very evenly, but are suitable only for working with soft materials having a low melting point.

How to cut a profile pipe evenly

It is recommended to use a bench square when marking. The required size is marked on the first side, the square is applied to the mark and a marking line is drawn. Further, without tearing the square from the angle between the faces, gently rotate it onto another, draw a marking line, turn again and mark the third face. If the lines converge on the last face, then the marking is done correctly.

Now you can fix the workpiece and cut the desired length with a grinder or hacksaw.

Large diameter pipe cutting

If you want to cut exactly a large diameter pipe, for sewage or under the entrance to the site, use the following tools:

  • Angle Grinder. Affordable, but not very safe way. A certain skill is required. Be sure to use personal protective equipment.
  • Roller Cutter. This is a fairly complex unit, specially designed for such work. It is mounted on the pipeline, covering it from the outside. The pressure of the cutting rollers is regulated by mechanics or automation. Each diameter requires its own equipment.
  • Gas cutter. The most commonly used method. The method is quite safe with sufficient qualification of the gas welder and the observance of safety rules. Requires a gas cutter, cylinders with acetylene or propane.

How to cut a cast iron pipe

Cast iron as a material has its own specifics and differs from steel alloys in a number of physical and mechanical characteristics. With high strength, cast iron is a very fragile material.

The cast iron pipe is marked in the same way as the steel pipe. Before starting work, wooden block blocks should be placed for support. With an angle grinder with a cutting disc, you need to make a shallow cut along the entire circumference. Next, a chisel inserted into the incision, you need to strike a blow of great strength. The product will evenly split along the file line.

If angle grinder is not available, you will have to make a ring file with a hacksaw for metal.

How to cut along

Not often, but sometimes you still need to cut the pipe along. It should be done as follows:

  • Mark the cut line carefully. Use a chopping thread, marker or masking tape.
  • Fix the pipe, next to the pipe provide a support for the hand along the entire cutting line.
  • Slowly, slowly moving the angle grinder along the cut line and maintaining the support of the arm, make a cut. You should constantly monitor the depth of immersion of the disk in the incision, so as not to saw through the opposite wall.

How to cut thin-walled pipes

When working with thin-walled rolled products, there is a high risk of crushing the edges of the cut. To avoid this, apply profile filling from the inside:

  • when working with a hacksaw, a round wooden stick of suitable diameter is inserted
  • when working with angle grinders, sand is poured inside, tamped and corked.

Platband - patch frame inherent to the door or window opening. This is a decorative piece made in the form of curly planks. There are carved platbands, their difference is that they are made of wood and are often decorated with plentiful carvings. The role of the frame is not only decorative, it allows you to slightly eliminate such unwanted blowing in the area of \u200b\u200bthe gap between the wall and the window or door frame, by overlapping.

Many have come across a situation where you need to install a particular part, and suitable measuring instruments are simply not at hand. This situation is especially unpleasant during the holiday period. It is not necessary to frantically start looking for working stores, you can use the means at hand.

Ways to cut platbands at 45 degrees without resorting to using miter box

The easiest way is to use an ordinary protractor, which is in every house where a school-age child lives. With his help, markup is not so difficult.

Important:
It’s important that he drank himself. To avoid the formation of cracks, it is recommended to use a hacksaw not for wood, but for metal. Yes, this method requires more time, but for that the cut will be much more accurate and even.

When the marking using the protractor is done, you need to position the platband on a horizontal surface so that the front side is at the top. It is recommended to cut along the entire plane of the clypeus.

If there are no stationery nearby, you can use the usual tile, with which you can draw an angle of 90 degrees. Dividing it into 2 halves, we get a template for a 45-degree angle, which can be used for marking instead of the miter box.

If there is a ruler - the task is simplified immediately several times. You just need to take sheet A-4 and draw a square, and then draw the bisectors of the corners. To make it more convenient, you can take a small board and attach it to one of the corners, which will fix the structure. Well, then you need to attach the platband and start sawing.

How to make a miter box at home?

If the above methods are not to your liking - you can make a miter box at home on your own. Miter box - a device resembling a tray in its shape, which has a U-shaped shape.

It is equipped with cuts for saws designed to cut the material at a certain angle. The dimensions of the parts are not very important, but the wider our home-made device will be, the wider and more accurately we will be able to saw wide rails.

Important:
Everything needs to be done wisely, it is also not worth overdoing it, because if the width of the miter box exceeds half the width of the hacksaw, it will be inconvenient to saw.

You can make markings using the above methods, and then use small pieces of plywood and a hacksaw. And in order to fasten everything, you can use self-tapping screws or even super glue. However, all this is more complicated and will take much longer, although it will provide the most accurate result (of course, if everything is done correctly).

Of course, the miter box is a convenient and practical tool. It is sold in almost any hardware store and has a low price that absolutely anyone can pull.

However, if for any reason there is a situation that it is impossible to get the tool in the shortest possible time, you can use improvised tools such as a ruler, protractor or even tile, with the help of which it is easy to create a template with the necessary markup or even recreate the miter box at home .
