Do-it-yourself plasterboard designs ceiling. Plasterboard ceiling and wall structures

It is difficult to name a building material comparable in popularity with drywall. It is used for leveling and mounting walls and ceilings of any complexity, to create partitions, arches, niches, door and window openings. Plasterboard designs, made with their own hands, make it possible to realize any design ideas.

The material is available to everyone, as it is cheap and easy to process without the use of special tools.

Calculation of drywall constructions

The main material in the construction of wall building structures inside the premises is gypsum board of standard sizes - 12.5 x 1200 x 2500 mm. 9.5 mm thick sheets are attached to the ceiling.

Installation of drywall constructions is based on the creation of a metal frame for which profiles and suspensions are needed.

Self-tapping screws, dowels, anchors, heat and sound insulation, putty and primer are also needed. The amount of GCR is determined more simply. To do this, find the area of the base surfaces with a margin of 10%. The exact calculation of drywall constructions is based on measurements of the dimensions of the room, sketching of the sketch, determining the number of gypsum plaster and profile. Since any wall or ceiling of the room is a rectangle, their area is determined by multiplying two sides with subtracting from it the dimensions of the openings. The footage of the profiles is determined with rounding up. The segments are easily spliced with self-tapping screws.

Calculators for calculating all the components for facing the ceiling or walls will help determine the amount of material.

Drywall Wall Structures

Having no experience, it is necessary to begin to make drywall constructions with your own hands from the usual alignment of the walls or the installation of a simple partition. Experience comes quickly, as many operations are repeated in different technologies. After simple designs, you can proceed to more complex options.

GKL sheets are mounted on frames of galvanized corrugated profiles, made by rolling from thin steel strips. Consider how to make simple drywall constructions with your own hands. Walls before alignment must first be fenced with guide profiles attached to the floor and ceiling. They should be located in one vertical plane, which is achieved using a plumb line and marking with a chopping cord. Then they are vertically inserted height-adjustable rack-mount bearing profiles. They are fastened with self-tapping screws at a distance of 60 cm from each other, and for the strength of the frame, they are additionally fixed with suspensions nailed to the wall in increments of 30-50 cm.

After the manufacture of the frame of any design, it is necessary to lay inside the communications (electrical wiring, communication, ventilation, heating, water supply).

How to make a niche?

First, the frame is manufactured according to the above technology. After that, an opening is cut out in it and a frame is mounted to the size of a niche. Then install guide profiles on the floor, ceiling and wall. Between the racks inside the niche there should be a step of 60 cm. They mark the opening and attach horizontal jumpers to them. When the frame is ready, it is very easy to sheathe it inside with drywall.

Arch Designs

The arch should be made a little higher than an ordinary door, as it visually reduces the opening. For the sample, you can take a plastic nut by choosing a suitable bending radius. It is installed in the aperture and bent to the desired curvature, after which it is marked and a cut is made in the GCR. The ceiling profile is attached to the slopes with dowels, and to it are two elements of drywall with the shape of an arch. Inside the frame is mounted on which it will hold. On the curved edges of the arch, a flexible profile is attached with self-tapping screws. Its end is covered with a strip of drywall, which should be pre-moistened and rolled the front side with a needle roller. Then it will be easy to bend. The arch is framed by a perforated corner, glued with a serpentine and putty produced.

DIY ceiling plasterboard designs

Multilevel ceiling designs require careful preliminary study with the preparation of sketches. Preparation includes the following steps:

Drywall constructions (device) - decorative elements used for interior design. To date, they are most often used for arranging ceilings during repairs in the apartment. Depending on the designer’s imagination, you can create unique patterns on the top floor, decorating it with spotlights of various types and colors. GKL buildings are made quite easily and quickly.

Features of drywall structures and their types

There are a lot of approaches to the installation of such a device (from GKL), this is due to the fact that the construction scheme is based on the imagination and creative approach of its designer. But still there are several main types of suspended upper floors of the room, which formed the basis for the creation of more complex devices.

The main types of ceilings from GKL:

 • single-tier gypsum plasterboard floors;
 • two- and three-level ceilings;
 • complicated.

Each of these species has its own characteristics.

The first type is for those who want to reach a flat surface and integrate spotlights into the ceiling.

This design can also serve as the basis for the installation of the following, more complex tiers of drywall constructions.

This type of ceiling is quite easy to do with your own hands without the help of specialists.

To create the basis for a single-level upper gypsum floor slab, a frame structure is used. Most often it is made of an aluminum profile under the very base of the ceiling. The next stage is the sheathing of the frame with drywall and the installation of lighting fixtures. The final step is to finish the ceiling.

This ceiling system lowers the main ceiling to a small extent, but despite this, the surface that is exposed to the cladding remains flat.

Two- and three-level plasterboard ceilings.

They have the following features:

 • as the first layer for a multi-tiered device, you can use both the first tier of the drywall ceiling and the capital ceiling base;
 • the area of each next tier of such a ceiling will be smaller in relation to the previous one;
 • installation of the second and third levels. For her, the exact same frame structure will be used as for the first tier. The basis for fastening in this case will be the frame of the previous level, and not the concrete base.

Types of simple multi-level ceilings

They are of the following types:

 1. Framework. This configuration is presented in the form of a kind of low one- or two-stage box, which is intentionally given an irregular shape (it is also called curly). It is built around the perimeter of the ceiling. The thickness of such a box is approximately 0.5 m. Spotlights are often built into frame drywall structures.
 2. Diagonal. When installing such a device, the second and third levels look as if they divide the ceiling in half from opposite angles. But, despite this, each level has an unusual figured shape. The division of the upper floor of the room in half occurs conditionally, since its parts can have a different area.
 3. Zonal. In this case, both the second and third levels have their own area of placement on the ceiling surface. In this case, one level occupies a large part of the room, and the other a smaller, insignificant part.

This classification is rather conditional. It presents the types of suspension devices in which there are slight deviations from the main types of drywall structures.

Complex plasterboard ceilings

If we compare a device of this type with conventional multi-level ceilings, then we can note the similarity of these structures. But still complex in most cases have a more complex structure.

There are so many options for complex gypsum plasterboard ceilings that it is impossible to recount, so a few examples of such ceilings will simply be given below so that you can at least roughly imagine how they look.

Back to the table of contents

Several types of complex ceilings

 1. Curly. They are based on the idea of creating, as a rule, in the center (but not necessarily) the design of some interesting and unusual figure: a flower, a star, an intricate element, etc. Figures of this kind are made using the second and / or third level drywall device.
 2. Ceiling abstractions. It is almost impossible to determine what appearance this configuration will have, since the name itself is quite abstract. Very often, such ceilings have the form of a beautiful, unusually illuminated spiral. You can also use several figures, placing them in different parts of the ceiling.
 3. Patterned. Such GCR devices have the same fine-mesh pattern adorning the entire surface of the ceiling. This type of suspension structure is quite complicated in execution. But due to the fact that it has a presentable appearance, it is popular among segments of the population with fairly high earnings.
 4. Soaring. The arrangement of such ceilings is unusual in that the ceiling structure is attached to the concrete floor in a rather unusual way. The result of installing this type of ceiling is the impression that the elements of plasterboard seem to soar under the ceiling.

Design and installation of drywall constructions on the ceiling

It is better to entrust such responsible work as the installation of a suspended ceiling system from GKL to professionals. But below will be described the design and installation process without the help of specialists, as well as a list of necessary tools.

Preparing for installation.

Occurs in a room where all the walls are plastered and went through the final putty phase.

Tools and materials.

Installation scheme of a suspended two-level ceiling.

To install, you need:

 • drywall sheets, the thickness of which is 9.5-12.5 mm; the amount of material needed is determined taking into account the complexity of the design and the number of levels. In any case, you must have 1-2 sheets in stock;
 • profile extenders;
 • screws with a size of 3.5x11 mm;
 • putty;
 • wedge anchor, on which direct and anchor suspensions will be mounted;
 • guide profile (UD);
 • ceiling profile (CD);
 • special connectors - single-level and two-level;
 • suspensions - straight and anchor;
 • dowel-nails - will be used to connect the guide profile to the wall, as well as to attach direct suspensions;
 • self-tapping screws with a size of 3.5x25 mm - for a single-level suspended ceiling, but if the design is multi-level, it is better to purchase longer self-tapping screws.
 • reinforcing paper for reinforcing joints.

These ceiling structures are constructed using the following building equipment:

 • 2 m hydro level or laser level;
 • rule 2 m long;
 • 5 m long tape measure;
 • hammer drill;
 • screwdriver;
 • milling cutters, with the help of which holes for lighting devices are cut out in drywall sheets;
 • plane;
 • spatulas - for chamfering;
 • construction knife;
 • square;
 • grater and grinding mesh - for processing putty places.

Installation of a suspended ceiling made of drywall is a very important job, which in most cases is best left to specialists. But if you are confident in your abilities, but do not know how to make a drywall structure on the ceiling with your own hands, our article is for you.

Preparation for installation

So, ceiling structures made of drywall are mounted in a room with plastered and putty walls after finishing putty.

Tools and materials

To build a false ceiling, you will need:

 • drywall sheets 9.5-12.5 mm thick; the amount of material is determined based on the complexity of the composition and the number of levels, it is also necessary to provide for a slight excess (1-2 sheets);
 • guide profile (UD);
 • ceiling profile (CD);
 • profile extenders;
 • special connectors - single-level and two-level;
 • suspensions - straight and anchor (with wire traction);
 • dowel nails - will be needed to connect the guide profile to the wall and attach direct suspensions;
 • wedge anchor - will be used as fasteners for direct and anchor suspensions;
 • screws 3.5 x 11 mm;
 • self-tapping screws with a size of 3.5 x 25 mm - for a single-level suspended ceiling, but if the design is multi-level, get longer self-tapping screws;
 • reinforcing paper for reinforcing joints;
 • putty (e.g. Uniflot).

Drywall construction tool:

 • hydro level (spirit level) 2 m long or laser level;
 • rule 2 m long;
 • 5 m long tape measure;
 • hammer drill;
 • screwdriver;
 • milling cutters, through which holes will be cut out in sheets of drywall for fixtures;
 • a planer - for processing the cut edges of drywall sheets;
 • spatulas - for chamfering;
 • construction knife;
 • square;
 • grater and grinding mesh - for processing putty places.

Advice! For the high-quality performance of a suspended ceiling, it is also desirable to have at least meager experience with drywall constructions and a sufficient margin of patience.

Marking and construction of the frame

Ceiling marking and erection of the frame system is performed in accordance with the following rules:

 • For the installation of the entire structure, a zero level must first be indicated. The laser or hydraulic level will help you with this.
 • On the entire perimeter of the room, markings are applied to the walls - an ideally smooth continuous line along which a guide profile (UD) will be attached.
 • The profiles are joined end-to-end; inserting one profile into another is prohibited.
 • To make the drywall construction made of high quality, a distance of 600 mm is provided between the supporting profiles, because the drywall is attached to them so that the joint of the sheets is in the middle of the profile. It should also be noted that the distance from the walls to the first and last profiles is 100-150 mm.
 • Bearing profiles should be in the same plane with the guides, which is checked by a two-meter building level. Profiles are fastened to the ceiling with anchor and direct suspensions.

 • It is important that the joining of adjacent drywall sheets does not occur in one line, therefore their fastening is carried out in a checkerboard pattern, and jumpers (segments of the ceiling profile) are fixed between the bearing profiles. Such jumpers are mounted throughout the ceiling in increments of 500 mm. Drywall sheets are joined exactly in the middle of the jumpers.
 • To fasten the jumpers and the supporting profile between them, it is advisable to use “crabs” (single-level connectors), which are connected with jumpers and supporting profiles with screws with parameters of 3.5 x 11 mm.

As a result of the described measures, the foundation (frame) of the future construction of the gypsum board ceiling is obtained. Drywall will be attached to it with self-tapping screws 3.5 x 25 mm.

Fixing drywall to the frame

When fastening, the interval between the screws should be no more than 25-30 mm. In this case, screwing is carried out perpendicular to the ceiling with a slight "recession" of the heads of the screws in the sheet, but without violating the integrity of the cardboard layer.

When all the drywall sheets are fixed to the profiles, the joints and joints with the walls are glued with reinforcing paper (mesh) and putty.

The advantages of plasterboard ceilings

The construction of gypsum plasterboard on the ceiling has several advantages: these are high aesthetic characteristics, and improving the level of lighting in the room, and improving sound insulation. Various engineering communications can be placed in the space formed by the old ceiling and suspended structure - electric cable, low-current and computer wired networks, ventilation, heating equipment, etc.

In general, the suspended ceiling withstands the greater the load, the smaller the distance between the suspensions and the guide profiles.

Advice! When purchasing fasteners and profiles for a false ceiling, pay attention to the description of products by manufacturers. Here you will find their main characteristics and will be able to determine whether the structure will support the weight of the communications that you are going to “hide” in the ceiling structure.

Now you know how to make a single-level suspended ceiling. If you want to construct a second or more levels with backlighting, thereby adding sophistication and originality to the design, draw a sketch of the future configuration on paper, and then duplicate it on the ceiling. Detailed instructions are described in the article How to make a circle of drywall on the ceiling, secret knowledge.

 Smooth curved lines can be made using a ceiling or wall guide profile. Their side shelves are then cut in increments of 3-5 cm and bent according to the design. Then, sheets of drywall 9.5 mm thick are attached to the frame of the first and second levels with long self-tapping screws.

Are you going to make a drywall ceiling with your own hands? You can be understood: this is a reliable and economical material that allows you to translate into reality the most non-trivial design idea. In order not to work out, as in the immortal statement of Viktor Chernomyrdin - “We wanted the best, but it turned out as always” - it would be worthwhile to familiarize yourself with a step-by-step instruction that details all the stages of work for decorating the ceiling surface.

For convenience and clarity, we supplied her 47 photos, so you will not have difficulties with the perception of the material.

Room preparation

 • remove all large items and furniture that could potentially interfere with work and movement during installation;
 • if it is not possible to carry out the first action, cover the furniture with a film to protect it from construction debris, adhesive and dust;
 • clean the ceiling from all that is superfluous: the same dust, small knots and all that you are unlikely to get to in the foreseeable future after installation.

Tool preparation

How to make a ceiling of drywall with your own hands correctly, so that after you do not have to regret the curve of planting sheets and poorly organized lighting? That's right, the key to successful installation is competent markup and the necessary tools at hand.

First, we list all that you need to make the correct layout of the room:

 1. roulette;
 2. level;
 3. pencil;
 4. masking cord.

And now let's touch on the mandatory set of directly necessary building tools:

 1. hacksaw;
 2. hammer drill;
 3. screwdriver;
 4. scissors.

As you can see, you do not need anything out of the ordinary in order to make a ceiling of drywall with your own hands. A standard set of tools that can be purchased at any construction supermarket.

The only thing that can be added to this modest in every sense of the list is protective glasses. Still, some of the steps in our step-by-step instructions include operations that could potentially harm your eyes.

Safety precautions - This is the basis of the fundamentals when performing any type of repair work, so take this recommendation seriously.

Material preparation

According to how you see your future hl ceiling, prepare plasterboard sheets of the right size. Calculating the total area of the room is quite easy: the length is multiplied by the width, and the exact size of the pieces of material directly depends on the format of the drywall structure that you want to see in your room.

You will also need:

 • ceiling guide profiles UD;
 • ceiling core CD profiles;
 • direct universal suspensions or any other in accordance with the layout;
 • self-tapping screws;
 • dowels.

It should be remembered that UD profiles are attached to the wall along the perimeter, and CDs are already inserted longitudinally into them with the step necessary according to the size of the drywall fragments.

Expense table

In order for you to roughly imagine future expenses and be able to prudently adjust your budget, we offer you a small table that reflects the average current prices for the materials used to decorate the ceiling with drywall.

Name Vacation Unit Price
screws packing (200pcs.) from 120 rubles
sheets hl sheet (3 m2) from 250 rubles
uD profile pC. from 40 rubles
cD profile pC. from 45 rubles
ceiling suspensions pC. from 4 rubles
dowels packing (200pcs.) from 125 rubles

Markup

A very simple, but rather important stage, on the correctness of which the final result depends:

 • find the bottom corner point on the concrete base of the ceiling;
 • we make the necessary indentation, guided by practical considerations: how the fixtures will be mounted, how many levels will be in the final structure. Remember that there must be a certain margin of a few centimeters, otherwise it’s very rough and unattractive to make a ceiling of drywall with your own hands;
 • we put a mark with the help of a level, if there is a hydraulic level at hand, then the problem of evenly transferring this line to the entire plane can be considered solved. If not, you will have to use the masking cord we mentioned;
 • we connect all the marks with this cord, achieving a perfectly flat line.

The final touch of the markup - drawing on the ceiling base the so-called nets, which will serve as a guide for the installation of prepared suspensions. Follow the step between the lines, it is approximately equal 50 cm.

This is what you should end up with.

If something similar happens on your ceiling, then congratulations: you have successfully completed the first step of our step-by-step instructions.

Frame

If the markup is done correctly, then the construction of the frame should not cause you much difficulty:

 • start from the perimeter, fixing the prepared wall profile UD through a given step (up to 60 centimeters);
 • proceed to fixing the suspensions - use a dowel for this, and place the prepared suspensions again at the intersection of the longitudinal and transverse lines of the mesh applied to the concrete base of the ceiling (see the previous paragraph);
 • prepare mortgages from the bars for the chandelier, if one will be used indoors, and draw wires to the places where it is planned to install spots and other types of lighting devices;
 • insert the longitudinal profile of the CD into the grooves of the wall and fix it with self-tapping screws. They should be at your fingertips, right?

If you did not know how to make the ceiling of drywall with your own hands correctly, but followed the suggested step-by-step instructions, then half the way has already been successfully completed. Creating a frame is crowned by an assembly called crates on which drywall sheets will be attached.

Drywall

Probably the most elementary and uncomplicated step when installing drywall, which, however, will require help in the form of a couple or two extra hands.

In order to speed up or even simplify the plasterboard decoration of the ceiling with your own hands, use the help of comrades to fix the sheets on the ceiling. The fact is that you can hardly fix the sheets of drywall with screws alone.

 1. start from one wall, systematically moving towards the opposite;
 2. installation of the last fragment is carried out with cropping the sheet in accordance with your measurements;
 3. put the fragments in a joint, excluding the appearance of any gaps and irregularities. If we are talking about the last sheet, then experienced specialists recommend nevertheless in this case to leave a small gap.

Finish

Step-by-step instructions on how to make a ceiling of drywall with your own hands, logically approached the post-processing of an already mounted surface. However, by the number of microoperations, this stage confidently pushes back all the previous ones:

 • putty joints and gaps;
 • surface primer;
 • decorative finish.

The choice to implement the latter is entirely up to you. Typically, to give the ceiling of drywall greater expressiveness, beautiful wallpapers are used, decorative plastering, painting of the ceiling base with water-based paint. When choosing a particular solution, make a discount on the functional purpose of the room.

It goes without saying that for a kitchen or a bathroom where high humidity prevails and temperature changes are not uncommon, it is best to prefer drywall to the most practical type of finish - painting with a reliable water-based emulsion.

Conclusion

The construction or repair of housing always consists of several stages. One of them is the arrangement of the ceiling - an activity that has a number of characteristic features and nuances. At this stage, it is necessary to eliminate all the defects that are in the floor, to align the corners and bumps. Of course, this problem has several solutions - for example, you can install a suspended ceiling made of drywall. How to mount drywall ceilings will be discussed in this article.

 Tools and materials

Installation of a suspended ceiling made of drywall begins with preparatory work. Of course, the first thing to do is to design the future design, but right after it you can start buying the necessary materials and tools.

First you need to figure out what you need for a suspended ceiling from tools - and this list includes the following devices:

 • Water level (the laser is also suitable, but it is much more expensive, and the costs do not always turn out to be expedient - both types of devices solve the same problems);
 • Construction level (it is advisable to take a two-meter - it is ideal for tracking the evenness of drywall sheets);
 • Hammer required for drilling holes for dowels;
 • Drill or screwdriver necessary for fastening profiles and sheets of drywall;
 • Tape measure, marking pencil and sharp knife;
 • Scissors for metal, grinder or hacksaw.

Before installing the ceiling from drywall, you will also need to prepare materials, the list of which looks like this:

 • Metal profiles. For the installation of suspended ceilings, guide profiles are needed that will be mounted around the perimeter of the room, and the ceiling profiles needed to fix the frame elements. The number of guide profiles must be calculated depending on the perimeter of the room, starting from the length of the walls and the profiles themselves. Ceiling profiles are calculated depending on the width of the drywall sheets (usually 125 cm) and the step between the profiles (optimal value is 60 cm). Both types of profiles are best purchased with a small margin, so that in case of damage or initial defective parts you do not encounter the need to purchase them by installing false plasterboard ceilings.
 • Drywall Sheets. Drywall can be in one of three versions - standard, moisture resistant and fireproof. Refractory products are rarely used, and moisture resistant products are needed only for rooms with high humidity (kitchens and bathrooms). Assembling the suspended ceiling from the GCR in the remaining rooms, you can take standard sheets so as not to pay too much. The thickness of the drywall on the ceiling should not exceed 10 mm - the strength of the material due to the thickness practically does not increase, but the weight becomes larger, as a result of which the load on the frame increases, and it is more difficult to work with sheets. The calculation of the required number of sheets is very simple - the total ceiling area is divided by the area of one sheet. As with other materials, it is better to take with a margin.

 • Fasteners. The first kind of parts that will be required for installation is direct suspensions for the gypsum board ceiling. About 20 suspensions are usually enough for 20 square meters of area if the suspended ceiling is single-level. For complex configurations, more may be required, and here an individual calculation is already needed. As a rule, the pitch between suspensions is about 60-70 cm, and this value will allow you to calculate the required number of parts. If the ceiling profiles have to be repeatedly connected, then “crabs” or longitudinal connectors will be required, the number of which will coincide with the number of connections. You will also need dowels for mounting suspensions, metal screws for fastening profiles, and screws for mounting drywall sheets themselves.

When the design scheme of the suspended ceiling made of drywall is drawn up, and all the necessary materials with tools purchased, you can proceed directly to the installation.

 Frame mounting

The technology for installing false ceilings begins with the assembly of the frame, which is as follows:

 • The work begins with the marking of the areas where the guide profiles will be mounted. For marking, a water level is used. First you need to compare with each other two points on opposite walls. It is desirable to arrange these points so that the distance to the base floor at the lowest point is about 10 cm - this is enough to install all communications, insulation and lighting. Marking is transferred to all walls.
 • In accordance with the marking, holes for fixing dowels are drilled in the walls. Further, with the help of fasteners, guides for the ceiling of drywall are mounted. The step of the fasteners should be about 35 cm, and you need to retreat from the corners by 10-15 cm.
 • Next, you need to mark on the walls the points at which the ceiling profiles will be installed. For simple single-level suspended ceilings, profiles located in one direction, i.e. only two opposite walls need to be marked out. When assembling the ceiling from the profile with your own hands, you must make sure that the distance between the profiles is the same. The optimal mounting step for ceiling profiles, as mentioned above, is 60 cm.

 • The next step, which involves the technology of installing drywall on the ceiling, is the installation of suspensions. These elements are attached to the base ceiling. The distance between the suspensions is best kept within 60-70 cm - this will simplify some further work. However, a small error in the installation of these elements is permissible.
 • Now you can begin to install the ceiling profiles themselves. If the length of the profiles and the wall is the same, then you will not have to dock the products - and this is very convenient. In practice, such a scheme of a suspended ceiling made of drywall is very rarely implemented, therefore, individual profiles have to be joined using a couple of additional suspensions installed at the junction point and longitudinal connectors. All parts are interconnected using screws to achieve maximum rigidity of the frame.
 • When connecting suspensions with ceiling profiles, it is necessary to ensure that the latter do not have sagging or bending. Failure to comply with this rule will lead to the fact that the assembled structure will be uneven, and this will be noticeable at first glance. Of course, this will not affect the decorative properties of the ceiling in the best way.
 • When the frame of the suspended ceiling is assembled, you need to check all its elements for alignment. A two meter level is used for this operation. Having found distortions, you need to fix them all, and only after that it will be possible to move on.

This completes the assembly of the plasterboard ceiling frame. Now you can do the installation of insulation, electrical wiring and other communications, which should be located in the box. When all the required elements are installed, it is time to sheathe the frame with drywall.

 Cladding and putty of suspended ceiling

The installation diagram of drywall on the assembled frame is as follows:

 • Drywall sheets rise to the frame and are fixed with screws along the perimeter and in the central part. The optimal pitch for screwing in self-tapping screws is about 10-15 cm. The fastening caps need to be deepened into the thickness of the drywall sheets by about 1 mm. Too zealous is not necessary so as not to damage the sheet. Perhaps before you turn the drywall to the ceiling, you should practice a little on scraps of material.
 • If the step of the profiles for the gypsum board ceiling is observed, and all the elements are installed correctly, then the sheets will be on the frame exactly with minimal trimming. During installation, you need to watch how the edges of the sheets are joined - if they do not have a rounding, then it will need to be cut with a knife so that the putty does not crack further.
 • In areas where lighting fixtures or communications will be located, it is necessary to cut openings of a suitable size with a knife. However, instead of a knife, it would be better to use a special nozzle on the drill - so the hole will turn out more even and accurate.

 • When the fastening of the suspended ceiling made of drywall is completed, all the parts are adjusted to each other, and the necessary holes are cut out, you can do the puttying of the structure. For this work, gypsum plaster and an adhesive mesh are usually used, which is designed to reinforce the joints of individual sheets.
 • It is necessary to start puttying precisely from those places where the sheets fit together. Putty is applied to these areas, closed with a self-adhesive mesh and leveled. When the material is completely dry, you can begin to process the entire surface of the ceiling with a finish layer.
 • The final coating must be left for a couple of days, so that it finally hardens. Next, you need to stock up with fine sandpaper, a building level and a lamp that allows you to find irregularities in the ceiling. The dried putty is gently glazed and leveled so that there are no pits, bumps and high-altitude drops on the ceiling.

On this installation of GCR on the ceiling is completed. Of course, the above technology can be much more complicated - for example, when creating multi-level structures, you have to put in many times more effort, and financial costs will increase. However, it is still better to start with simple ceilings - the probability of a critical error in such cases is minimal.

 Drywall decoration

Finishing plasterboard false ceiling can be done in a variety of ways. The market offers a vast assortment of various materials and solutions that can be used to decorate the ceiling structure - and not all materials are intended for decoration.

A variety of options suggests that decorating a suspended ceiling is a purely individual moment that is worked out personally by the owner or hired designer. In addition, the selection of the most suitable jewelry largely depends on financial capabilities - the budget finish is equipped with completely different materials than expensive decor.

For some situations gypsum stucco molding may work well, while in others simple foam baguettes would be appropriate. Finishing the surface of the ceiling is also important - wallpapering will be quite appropriate in one style, and for other cases it will require more complex and expensive solutions, such as an elegant handmade pattern applied by the artist to the ceiling.

When designing the ceiling design, you must also take into account the features of the room itself, as well as the entire housing. Whether all rooms will be adapted to the general style, or whether they will be completely different from each other - this issue needs to be thought out as soon as possible so as not to end up with incompatible design solutions.

 Conclusion

The technology for installing suspended plasterboard ceilings is quite simple, if you do not take into account the construction of complex configurations, the assembly of which requires serious experience in construction work. However, with a great desire, you can solve any problem, even the most difficult one - in the end, it is not at all necessary to do all the work yourself, you can always entrust their implementation to specialists.
