Drywall cutter: types of knives and their features. How to cut GVL: how to cut sheets at home Give the walls beauty - finish surface

One of the building materials that is often and widely used in apartment renovation is drywall, which is a rectangular sheet of standard size. As a rule, building decor, suspended ceilings and interior partitions have individual parameters, therefore, such a sheet needs cutting. For accurate and accurate slicing into pieces of different sizes and shapes, you will need a special tool - a drywall knife, which can easily cope with this task.

Types of drywall knives

For some types of work, for example, for cutting a small number of even strips, an ordinary clerical or wallpaper knife may be suitable, but since the edge in this case will not be ideal, each element will have to be finished and processed. The blades of such a device are thin and brittle, so they bend and break during operation, which affects the quality of the workpieces.

In all other cases, it is preferable to use special tools, such as:

  1. Special knife.
  2. Universal knife.
  3. Knife with a disk blade.

Special knife

Externally, a special knife for drywall almost does not differ from the clerical one, it also consists of a folding handle, a double-sided blade, a spring clip and a connecting bolt. The blades in this tool are also interchangeable and sectional, but have a greater margin of safety, a width of 18 mm and a thickness of 0.4-0.7 mm, which allows you to cut an even line even at high pressure.

A sign of the quality of a special knife is a metal case with precise fixation of the cutting element and a rubberized handle.

Universal knife

A universal or assembly knife is well-deserved, because along with the possibility of its application at any stage of repair it contains a number of advantages in:

  • The convenient ergonomic design of the handle, made of light metal or strong plastic and coated with multi-component rubber, makes cutting more comfortable and reduces the strain on the hands.
  • The blades made of high carbon steel have a trapezoidal shape and do not contain sections, which increases their strength and rigidity. Spare blades are usually included and are replaced with new ones as needed. This combination of the cutting part and the handle allows you to accurately cut the sheet into elements of any shape and complexity.
  • The design of the universal knife may include details such as a clip for attaching to a belt or box with spare blades in the handle. These options make this device even more convenient to use.

Important! The blade of the knife should be sharp, and its length adjusted to the thickness of the drywall sheet.

Blade knife

This type of tool is also widely used in the processing of drywall, for the following reasons:

  • The circular knife is ideally suited for high-precision cutting of straight, broken and curved lines of large radius, since it runs rigidly along the guides, and a constantly rotating blade cuts through the material without gaps.
  • The cutting blade can withstand high loads and high forces, due to which it has a long service life.

Bladerunner - not so long ago appeared on the market and so far a little-known cutter for a new generation drywall (from the English blade runner - a running blade). This unusual and interesting tool is gaining more and more popularity, as it is easy to use and durable.

Such a knife is a system of two equivalent cutting devices that are held by strong magnetic clamps during operation. Inside, in special blocks, there are blades, which are very easy to replace: just press the button to open the tool body, remove the used cartridge and replace it with a new one. The cutting process is also as simple as possible: the marking of the sheet is combined with a line on the body and the cutter is guided along the line, while the line and the edge of the workpiece are perfectly flat.

Also, the following properties belong to the advantages of this tool:

  • With the bladerunner, the cutting process is almost doubled in speed, as its blade system is designed in such a way that the drywall sheet is cut from both sides at once and falls apart.
  • This cutter is used to get elements of any configuration. Straight, curved and broken lines, as well as shapes and angles are cut out the same way: having brought the tool to the desired point, you must press the button at the top of the case and turn the device in the appropriate direction.
  • With the help of such a knife it is convenient to cut drywall, located vertically.
  • There is no chance of injury during operation of the blender, as the cutting surfaces are hidden in the housing.
  • This tool is ideal for working with refractory and moisture resistant types of drywall with a thickness of 12.5-15 mm.
  • The blenderner comes with a waist bag for greater ease of use.

Note! It is convenient to cut bends of a large radius with such a cutter, with small details there is a risk of not falling into the marking.

Since the choice of knives for drywall is quite large, a decision should be made based on the types and amount of work.

When decorating, the main thing to remember is to use only safe and moisture resistant materials. Gypsum fiber sheet just belongs to this kind of materials. So what are the main advantages in working with GVL, and, most importantly, how to cut it? Let's figure it out.

Gypsum fiber is excellent for finishing work on walls, floors and even ceilings. Unfortunately, gypsum fiber cannot be bent, unlike drywall, which means that it is impossible to use it in creating rounded structures.

The use of GVL for flooring provides such advantages as:

  • warming. GVL does not pass cold air;
  • due to the strength of the material, you can not worry that the gypsum fiber will break;
  • perfectly flat floor surface;
  • GVL perfectly absorbs moisture.

But when working with hypo-fiber at home, you must always carry specialized tools for cutting gypsum.

Plaster Tools

  1. Construction knife for working with gypsum fiber sheet. The blade thickness must be at least 12 mm. It is worth remembering that when cutting the blades will blunt quite quickly, therefore, they will have to be changed often enough.
  2. Special hacksaw for working with GVL. The advantage, of course, is that when cutting with a special hacksaw, the amount of dust and debris from it is minimal. But the process will take a lot of time.
  3. Another option: a circular saw. This method is possible when cutting GVL, but do not forget that there will be a lot of dust and debris during operation. It is necessary to protect the airways and work in a well-ventilated area or, better, on the street.
  4. Bulgarian. It is worth noting that the method is also quite convenient, but, as in the case of a circular saw, care must be taken to ensure that the room has good air circulation.

Note that the method, in comparison with a hacksaw or knife, is quite fast.

  • Jigsaw   with built-in vacuum cleaner. Many argue that this method is the most optimal. The amount of dust and debris due to the vacuum cleaner is minimal, and the time spent on cutting a sheet will be as short as possible.

First of all, it is worth noting that everyone chooses how to cut a plasterboard sheet. First of all, it is necessary to proceed from the kind of work for which GVL is necessary and in which room the work is carried out.

After all, if the work will take place in a private house, then you can use a grinder, you just have to go out into the fresh air and not worry that the whole room will be littered with garbage, and dust will fly in the air for more than one day.

A completely different layout should be when working in an apartment in a multi-storey building. It is extremely inconvenient to drag sheets of gypsum fiber, for example, from the 14th floor to the first and saw it in the courtyard of a residential building.

Accordingly, on the basis of the above, it is necessary to choose the most optimal way to cut GVL.

Drywall - a popular material for interior and exterior decoration, cladding partitions. It is universal and has many advantages, is issued in sheets. Working with drywall is inextricably linked with the cutting or trimming of excess parts. If the volume is large, coping without a special tool is quite difficult. To carry out cutting as quickly as possible and without putting much effort, it is enough to purchase a knife for cutting drywall. The tool has several varieties. Each has its own characteristics.

A knife for cutting drywall is selected taking into account the planned scope of work and the complexity of the cuts. The tool is selected based on three important points:

  • Straight lines can be obtained by using a conventional knife. The tool blade must have a hard and thick blade. If it is too thin, damage cannot be avoided. Stationery knives, of course, are convenient to use, but they do not allow you to make perfectly straight edges. They require additional alignment through other tools.
  • Special professional knives allow you to cut a large number of drywall sheets. The edges are smooth. They are not additionally aligned. When acquiring such an instrument, it must first be held in the hands for some time. This makes it possible to understand how comfortable the handle is. This parameter of the fixture directly affects the quality and ease of cutting.
  • Curly holes are created using a hacksaw with thin teeth. If you need smooth edges, it is better to give preference to an electric tool.

If you plan minor repairs with GKL, an ordinary clerical knife is enough. With a large amount of work, you need a professional knife.

Tool varieties

There are many devices for cutting drywall sheets. Each has its own characteristics. To choose the most optimal option, you should consider the characteristics of each, and then make a choice in favor of any one.

Wallpaper or stationery knife

Belongs to universal. It is used to perform various tasks. Most masters use this particular tool. The advantage of a wallpaper knife for cutting drywall is its affordable cost and ease of use. The main thing is to understand that this is not about a device with a blade width of 9 mm, since it is not only for paper.
For drywall, a tool from 18 to 25 mm is used. Knives with this width are divided into three categories:

  1. Standard the cost is from 30 rubles, it does not differ in strength, and the blade often cuts through the case over time, which makes working with it dangerous.
  2. Reinforced  with a metal guide at the end to provide a rigid fixation that prevents the blade from protruding from the housing.
  3. Professional  costing from 200 rubles to several thousand, designed to carry out a large amount of work, with an ergonomic body. The blade of some models can be fixed for precise cutting.

The thickness of the blade varies from 0.3-0.6 mm. They are standard and replaceable. The thicker the cutting part, the better. Option with a mini hacksaw allows you to get bends and curly sections.

With trapezoidal blade

It is considered the most optimal for cutting drywall, since the tool is designed specifically for this work. This device has several varieties:

  • Ergonomically shaped comfortable handle. When choosing such an instrument, you should first hold it in your hand and "try on it." If you hold the knife uncomfortably, your hand will quickly get tired.
  • High rigidity of the blade, allowing to cut broken or straight lines. First they work with one cutting side, and then the other.
  • The cost is also quite affordable. You can buy a knife at a price of 200 to 2,000 rubles. It depends on the brand or design. Poor options for such devices are few.

When purchasing a knife with a trapezoidal cutting element, you should pay attention to the options. The clamp allows you to hang the tool on the belt, and the box eliminates the need to carry spare blades with you.

Disc Cutter or Reymus

Designed for highly specialized purposes. It is equipped with two drives. They are opposite each other and cut drywall sheet on both sides. This ensures high quality cutting. Working elements are fixed with wing nuts, which can be replaced if such a need arises. The cost of the instrument starts from 800 rubles.
Design features allow you to get perfectly even sections and strips from gypsum plasterboards with a width of not more than 12 cm. The fixture is great for craftsmen working on the construction of multi-level structures and when narrow elements are needed from GCR.

With blade disc

This device is a raskroyechny. It is used to cut drywall sheets for several reasons:

  • The tool creates straight lines. The drive disc moves strictly along a ruler or any other guide. Cutting accuracy is almost one hundred percent.
  • The cutting part of the tool does not allow gaps. The knife is pressed with the application of force. The canvas is stiff, and the handle body is durable, so the device does not break.

Disc blades are durable. Even with intensive use, they will last for several years. The price of a knife varies between 250-1000 rubles.

At the moment, not the most common version of the tool among professionals and home masters. The main feature of the device is that it accelerates twice the cutting of drywall sheets. The knife has the following features and advantages:

  • The cutting part consists of two parts held by magnetic clips. The blades are in special blocks, so they can be easily removed and inserted.
  • A set of rollers is enough to cut 600 plasterboard sheets. Each such video costs 100 rubles, which is quite profitable and economical.
  • A special waist bag, with which the tool is sold, facilitates the use of a tool of considerable size. It becomes easy to carry.
  • You can cut the device curly and straight lines, cut even corners by pressing the top button and turning the tool.

The instrument also has disadvantages. Blades can be damaged when cutting sheets with a thickness of 0.9 cm, because when they exit the GCR, the halves collapse. Blade Runner is ideal for cutting large bends. With small, it is difficult to ensure the accuracy of hits on the marked markings.

How to use a knife for cutting drywall sheets?

There are many varieties of GKL knives, but most often even many experienced craftsmen, if they do not work with this material constantly and in large volumes, use the usual mounting knife. It allows you to cut straight lines. The action algorithm is as follows:

  • Measure the size of the desired fragment with a tape measure and transfer the points to the GCR using a pencil.
  • A metal ruler or building level is applied to the points. These devices serve as guides.
  • Spend along the level or line with a knife without separation. The movement should be one, and the blade go 1/3 of the thickness.
  • The knife is removed and the gypsum plaster is laid with the cut line shifted beyond the edge of the working surface. If the cutting is carried out on the floor, drywall is placed under a wooden block.
  • Press the palm on the part located in the canopy and break along the line marked by the blade.
  • Turn the drywall sheet to the other side and cut with a knife.

To cut long stripes, use a starting or rack profile. You can use any guide, but with a perfectly flat surface.

How is curly cutting performed?

Direct cutting of drywall does not cause problems, but fragments of a non-standard shape are often required during the construction of structures and for finishing:

  • The angle is sawn with a hacksaw. First a short section, and then a long one. Place a canopy leaf, break it through and cut it out.
  • The holes are cut according to the pattern using a pattern in which a circle of the desired size is made. A hacksaw is inserted into it and a contour is sawn, without going beyond the marking. They take out the "extra" GKL section and process the edges with a file.
  • Figured cutting is carried out strictly along a pre-drawn line. Make a cut using the blade. Edging is carried out without fail. Get the perfect edge does not work.

It is difficult to make non-standard cuts even for experienced specialists. The more often they work with drywall, the easier it becomes to perform cutting. The main thing is to choose the most suitable tool.

Among the piece finishing materials, gypsum boards for walls stand out. They are much like dry plaster, but have differences in performance. How to cut such plates, how they are prepared for installation and fastened to the wall, we will describe further in the article.

  Gypsum fiber boards - types and advantages of the material

Two types of gypsum fiber sheets (GVL) are known, the difference between them lies in the manufacturing method and properties. Some are suitable for rooms with high humidity, others are sheathed with other walls. Moisture resistant sheets (GVLV) have impregnations that protect products from water and steam. The scope of their application is unheated rooms, bathrooms, and kitchens. Non-moisture resistant GVL are used in dry rooms.

The basis of the plates is gypsum - a rather fragile material, therefore, to increase the strength in production, cellulose and reinforcing additives are additionally used. GVL for walls differs from drywall: in its manufacture, cardboard coating is not carried out. GVL strength is much more than drywall. In many cases, gypsum boards are simply indispensable for, especially in unheated rooms. They do not lose their properties during repeated freezing and thawing.

Among other advantages of HVL, increased fire resistance is noted. Covering the walls of wood with gypsum boards increases their fire safety. There are no impurities harmful to human health in the material. Fungi, mold do not find a nutrient medium in them, they are also not interested in rodents. Products are very durable, warm to the touch, well insulate sounds, protect against heat loss.

GVL comes in standard and small format sizes. Standard 2500 × 1200 mm, 10 or 12 mm thick. Small-format ones make 1500 × 1000 mm of the same thickness. They are convenient in small rooms: bathroom, toilet. On the reverse side is a marking indicating the properties of the product. The letter A in the marking indicates high quality.

These products are supplied to the market by many enterprises manufacturing building materials. Choose products from well-known manufacturers. Visual inspection will also help to get an idea about the product. The surface should be without damage, not have irregularities. Buy should be in stores that have dry warehouses, where the goods were stored in appropriate conditions.

Among the other advantages of gypsum fiber boards, one should note the following:

  • construction defects and communications are hidden under them;
  • pressed sheets are very strong and viscous, nails and screws are firmly attached to them;
  • the material can be machined by carpentry tools like wood;
  • the surface is painted, papered with wallpaper, tiled.

GVL can be used in any rooms irrespective of a condition of surfaces, the used material. This is an alternative to wet plaster: environmentally friendly, durable, beautiful, requiring a minimum of time and effort during installation.

  How to cut GVL correctly - essential tools

Many believe that preparing the material for installation should be similar to drywall. This is not entirely true. Despite the same basis, their properties vary. GVL, for all its strength, is brittle; therefore, its processing technology has differences.   For cutting use:

  • hacksaw for GVL, which almost does not form dust;
  • a thick construction knife with many spare blades that will have to be constantly changed;
  • boot knife;
  • a grinder or circular saw, which very quickly cut the sheets;
  • jigsaw with a wood file, 4 mm pitch.

When cutting with a jigsaw and grinder, a lot of dust is formed. For protection, use a respirator and glasses, the sheets are moistened with water.

Cutting is done carefully and carefully to avoid injuries from sharp and dangerous tools. First, the sheet is marked, then, according to a ruler or rule, a knife is made several times with a knife. The depth of the cuts should reach ⅔ of the plate thickness. A ruler is exposed from below, a piece of sheet is pulled up sharply, and the plate breaks along the line.

The sheets usually have a smooth edge, which does not create difficulties when they are joined. If it becomes necessary to adjust the edges, it is convenient to work with a planer. To make a fold, use a shoe cutter knife or a chisel. If there is a lot of work, use a mill with a groove mill 3-4 mm.

  Installation without a frame - all the nuances of the process

GVL can be installed without a frame. It is preferable to carry out the installation before laying the finish floor covering. For two or three days, the sheets are kept indoors at a temperature of + 10 ° and above, the thermal regime must be maintained all the time. It is also important to prevent moisture changes.

Assess the condition of the walls. If the surface peels off, partially or completely remove the plaster depending on the area of \u200b\u200bthe problem surface. Putty put, allow to dry. The wall was putty or not, it is checked for bumps. In different places, a ruler is applied and the depth of the troughs is measured. Their presence or absence determines how the material will be fixed.

If irregularities are less than 4 mm, fasten with gypsum putty. It is applied with a notched trowel along the edges of the plate, then the gypsum fiber is glued to the wall. With irregularities up to 20 mm use glue for hot water supply. It is applied throughout the sheet, starting from the edges, after 30 centimeters. If the bumps are up to 40 mm, installation is complicated. First, strips of sheets of 10-centimeter width are attached to the glue, and then the sheets themselves are glued to them on gypsum putty. Plates are aligned on a stretched cord, tapping with a mallet.

Before installation, the walls are primed. While the primer dries, it is possible to prepare gypsum boards. They are cut to size, make holes for the exit of electrical appliances. The surface of the walls is marked using a tape measure and cord-breaking device, indicate the installation location of the plates. It should be remembered that the lower edge of the sheet should not reach the floor of 10 mm. Then these gaps are closed with segments of GVL.

  GVL installation on a framework

Metal profiles or wooden slats 75 × 25 mm are used. First, prepare the walls, removing the peeling coating. The use of the frame method allows to exclude the preparation of walls from preliminary operations. Many experts, however, advise to pre-putty walls.

Using a building level, a plumb line, marking is indicated indicating the installation location of the profile. Vertical posts and jumpers are installed at the joints and in the spaces between them with a pitch of 40 cm. A metal frame is preferable to wooden battens. Profiles are mounted on brackets, fixed with screws or dowels. Racks are pasted over with a sealing tape which will increase sound insulation. The length of the risers is minus 10 mm from the height of the room.

It is better to finally fix the racks after checking compliance with the joints of the plates.

The gypsum-fiber material begins to be fastened from a corner in a run up perpendicular. They are fixed with 40 mm self-tapping screws for GVL, if the thickness of the material is standard. In any case, the screws should enter the body by 20 mm. Hats are recessed by 2 mm. Between the sheets leave a small gap of 5-7 mm. The space between the GVL and the wall can be insulated using, for example, mineral wool.

  We give the walls beauty - surface finish

Before finishing, surface preparation is carried out with the main purpose of sealing joints. They, as well as the inner corners, are reinforced with special paper tape. Some masters do not recommend reinforcing. A little universal putty is applied to the seams, a tape is applied on top and slightly pressed.

Do not reinforce joints with nylon nets and fiberglass ribbons.

After drying, the seam is covered with a layer of putty and leveled with the base. Screw heads must also be putty. Aluminum corners are fastened with putty on the outside corners. Then this place is also leveled and reduced to the level of the main plane.

Now, in a plastic bucket with a mixer, putty is prepared and applied to the surface. A day later, when the putty dries, they begin to grout the walls with an abrasive mesh or emery. Abrasive material is mounted in special graters. Its grain size depends on the finishing material. For painting, an abrasive of at least size 240 is suitable, for dense wallpapers, 60 is enough.

Damp rags remove dust and primed with a roller. The walls are ready for finishing. You can wallpaper - from paper to textile or tiled. Of paints, everything is admissible, except for those made on lime, including in the composition or silicates.

Drywall is a popular building material, it is practical and comfortable to use. From the GKL sheets, you can create structures of even the most complex form. For this, complex special devices are not needed, just a special knife is enough. Drywall knives are convenient fixtures for construction work. They come in several forms, while all are aimed at facilitating work with the gypsum plasterboard, saving time spent and creating smooth parts and lines.

What to cut?

Cutting drywall is actually a simple and fairly easy process, but to create an even beautiful edge you should take a tool designed specifically for GCR.

There are 2 main types of tools:

  • hand held;
  • powered by electricity.

Devices for manual labor are divided into several varieties.

  • Drywall Knife  - the easiest tool. It cuts smoothly, quickly, and is safe to use. The blade of such a knife easily extends and is securely fixed. Unfortunately, it quickly dulls and can break, although if necessary it is not difficult to change it.
  • Hacksawspecialized in drywall is applicable when it is necessary to cut holes and complex angles. This product is made of high quality hardened steel. This blade is thin, narrow, characterized by small sharp teeth, which allows you to cut holes and grooves in the GCR sheet.
  • Disc cutter  used for cutting drywall sheets into identical even parts when it is necessary to cut a large number of parts.

The thinner the knife blade, the easier and sharper it cuts the material, making even and smooth cuts.

But at the same time, a thin blade loses its properties faster. It breaks off, dulls, so you should carefully monitor its condition and replace if necessary. If desired, any sharpened straight knife can be used for work, but professionals prefer specialized tools.

This can be a specialized knife, a common and popular tool when working with GCR. If you want to make a small incision, you can use the usual office knife. But it is possible that the resulting edge will be rough or torn, which may subsequently require additional processing of drywall.

In cases when they carry out thorough work with drywall, preference is given to the following types:

  • special knife;
  • universal knife;
  • knife with a disk blade;
  • Blade runner.

Special

The appearance of this knife is similar to the clerical counterpart. The design involves the presence of a handle that can be disassembled into parts, as well as a double-sided blade, a locking mechanism (most often a spring is used) and a bolt connecting all the elements in one structure. Used blades are usually thin and durable, they can be changed in whole or in sections. The minimum width is 18 mm, the thickness ranges from 0.4-0.7 mm. For convenience, the handle cover is rubberized (so that the hands do not slip). But there are just plastic options.

A special knife allows you to cut through the material at high pressure without breaking the blade.

Universal

Due to its design, a universal knife or mounting knife allows you to work with gypsum plaster at any stage. Its handle is ergonomic, it lies easily and conveniently in the hand, the rubberized plastic of the case makes the use of the knife comfortable. Manufacturers presented two options for fixing the blade: screw and the use of a spring. The blade blade is made of high quality steel and has no section cuts. This increases the reliability and durability of the knife.

The assembly knife may include additional elements:

  • spare blades;
  • latch for fastening on a belt of trousers or a belt of pants;
  • built-in compartment with spare parts.

All these factors make the use of a universal knife convenient, comfortable and suitable for daily work.

With blade disc

A knife with a disk blade is often used by specialists when it is necessary to quickly and correctly cut GKL parts. It allows you to perform work on cutting various lines (straight lines, curves, geometric shapes of varying complexity). Due to the fact that when using the disk is constantly in motion, the efforts can be minimized. This knife can withstand heavy loads and guarantees a long service life.

With tape measure

A distinctive feature of this knife is the fact that the design is complemented by a built-in measuring tape. This knife is a multifunctional device, it consists of a comfortable handle covered with a rubber compound, as well as a cutter blade and a centimeter tape measure. Blades can be changed, roulette parameters are measured in two quantities - centimeters and inches. It glides smoothly along the base of the gypsum plaster sheet, always maintaining a straight line parallel to cutting. The desired length of the tape is fixed when you click on a special button. In the case there is a recess adapted for a writing instrument.

Blade runner

Blade runner several years ago appeared in the ranks of building materials, it is still little known, but in the circle of specialists they prefer it. Translated from English, it means "running blade." Looking at the design, you can confirm this. This professional knife consists of two main parts, which during operation are located on both sides of the sheet and are firmly fixed with strong magnets. Each block has its own blade, which is easy to replace, you just have to open the case and remove the old one.

Its main advantage is that the drywall sheet is cut simultaneously from two sides. This reduces the time spent on work, the material itself falls apart.

Using the Blade runner it is convenient to cut vertical sheets, cut elements of any complexity. To turn the blade, just press the button and turn the knife in the desired direction. It is not traumatic - the blades are hidden inside the case. Blade runner handles thick sheets perfectly, saves time and guarantees durability.

Work stages

Drywall knives allow you to quickly and easily cut the necessary part along the intended line.

Consider a step-by-step instruction.

  • At the first stage, using the measuring tape measure the parameters of the proposed fragment.
  • Then you need to transfer the dimensions to the surface of the material and mark the lines on the base using a pencil or any other writing tool.
  • We attach an iron ruler to the planned line (building level or metal profile).
  • We hold it firmly on the basis of drywall and gently draw along it with a construction knife, without interruption and without tearing off our hands.

  • Having made a cut line, carefully remove the knife from the material.
  • We lay drywall on a table or any other surface so that one side is on weight.
  • Now gently push on the free part with your hand and break the GKL plate exactly along the cut.
  • Turn the sheet over and cut the back layer.

If you need to cut an angled curved figure, you must use a hacksaw on drywall and a drill. Having outlined the contours of the future element, we drill a small hole in a convenient place using a construction drill, then insert a hacksaw and begin to saw through the contour of the part, taking care not to go beyond the marking contour. Working with drywall does not require special skills, it is available to beginners. A knife for working with drywall can be used when work is underway on preparing sheets for finishing butt joints with putty. It is used at the embroidery stage (processing the edges of the material to a perfectly flat surface). In places of adjoining sheets of gypsum plaster, chamfering is done at an angle of 45 degrees.
